A birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese is not my idea of a wonderful way to spend my Monday evening. It’s not even a good way to spend any day of the week in my opinion because while I enjoy my children and their friends, I’m not so fond of children in the general population. But I dutifully chauffeured YS to a party. As I pulled into the parking lot my heart rose and I’m sure my face brightened with a glow only known to someone in a deeply addicted to her hobby who just discovered a yarn store she did not know existed.
After dropping the YS at the birthday party, I sauntered next door to the yarn store where I discovered many treasures. And while they carried only Lion’s Brand yarn, they offered tons of it in more varieties and colors than I’ve seen elsewhere.
Unfortunately the yarn shopping had to end and I had to return to hell on earth where a giant rat and hordes of sugar-buzzed children roam freely. But something tells me I will make the journey back to Chuck E. Cheese, but it won’t include the boys or even Chuck E. himself next time.
