I’m sorry I haven’t posted much this week. It’s not a reflection of my thoughts or lack thereof, because I’ve actually had many thoughts. Some are completely random and some have been almost blog-worthy. I just haven’t taken the time to wrap my brain around my ideas long enough to find the appropriate words to express them.
Warning: The randomness that defines this entry is going in the extended entry. Enter at your own risk!
In diet news: I’m back on The Beach. I’m carefully following phase one of the South Beach diet. I’m still down five pounds from my last adventure into phase one even though I slipped into phase two for the last couple of weeks. All in all, I still believe in The Beach.
In breakfast news: I’m not a breakfast eater as a rule. I’m too busy for breakfast and I never seem to be hungry at that hour. But breakfast is important on The Beach, so breakfast is something I have been making time for. And you know what? It’s actually quite relaxing to take the time to sit down to a small breakfast—instead of rushing around like a madwoman.
In wardrobe malfunctions: In addition to the zipper fiasco, I’ve managed to spill either makeup or some of the above-mentioned breakfast onto my clothing prior to leaving the house every day this week. And I don’t usually notice the spill until I’m at the office or other destination. You know, when it's too late to do anything about it.
In quotes of the day: This quote recently captured my attention: “The path up and down is one and the same.” –Heroclitus. And I kicked that thought around my brain for several minutes. I’ve always been interested in inspirational quotes, but the topic or message I’m drawn to changes over time. I find it interesting and rather telling what inspires me when.
In blog news: I think it’s highly possible that someone I know has already found or will find my site in the future. And I can’t say why I believe this is so, although it is humorous. I’ve been evaluating the reasons behind my blog and why I’m a blogger. I’ve been thinking about what I hoped to achieve with this site and questioning whether I’ve accomplished whatever that is. I’ve also considered alternatives, such as password protection for individual entries or making the site private. I’m not very fond of the last idea, but I’m still mulling it over and I’m not ruling anything out. Watch for a news update on this topic.
In soccer news: Soccer related events are consuming four of the seven evenings each week. I look forward to completing many knitting projects. Thank goodness knitting is the new yoga. A yarn-and needle clicking-induced meditation is good for the soul.
