So, I'm sleeping peacefully when a man's voice wakes me up. The voice is very close to my ear. As I wake up and come to my sense, I realize that the voice is actually inside my ear. Not next to it. And the voice is not really speaking to me so much as it is taunting me. As I make this startling discovery and my heart begins to race, I notice there is a device inside my ear. I reach my hand to my ear and remove a safety pin, of all things.
Then I wake up for real. And I can't help thinking WTF was that all about? It has to be one of the oddest dream I have ever had. Of course, little did I know that it would proceed an odd day as well.
One in which my boss declares me to be the resident expert for the new software we recently purchased. This declaration was made during a meeting with a roomful of contractors. Software contractors. And need I say which software? And my so called expertise? Well that stems from reading one book on the subject and playing around with the software. Hardly makes me an expert, huh? I think I know just enough to be dangerous. As usual...
But it does shed a little light on the odd dream thing. I think it was triggered by the massive amounts of stress I have faced lately due to the mountain of work on my desk. As for the voice. I'm sure it's actually the nagging voice that likes to tell me that I'm in over my head right now. And I might be; however, the workload doesn't seem so overwhelming when I take it one day at a time. Just gotta keep the stress at bay.
So, can stress trigger nightmares? Anyone experience this before? What about fruity Kool-Aid fumes? I would think fruit induced dreams would be pleasant. But what do I know?
After returning from the fair yesterday, the YS and I colored some of the Knit Picks yarn I purchased a while back. It was inspired by the Twizzlers the boys brought home from the corner store. We had a lot of fun mixing the Kool-Aid to get the right colors and painting the yarn was fun too. Of course, I think the YS devoted more time to eating Twizzlers than coloring yarn. But that's okay.
The colors aren't quite right in this photo, but they're close. Overall, this yarn coloring experience was more successful than the last. So yay! Next time it should be perfect.
