I'm so hooked on Ravelry. If I'm on-line at home, you can pretty much rest assured that I will find my way to the Ravelry site for at least a quick stop. I may not have anything to add or update, but I still find myself there checking in on my groups and friends. It's very addictive and I have been known to surf those pages for 10 hours straight.
Sometimes, such as when I'm at a turning point in my knitting, it serves as a nice distraction and is a good way to take my mind off my knitting troubles. In fact, it's such a distraction to me now that I'm experiencing some knitting-related issues that I don't know how I missed out on the survey they performed recently. Here's a link to the Ravelry survey results.
I find the "when did you start knitting seriously" question and the results, 2005, the most interesting of all. I think it ties in to my Tipping Point entry from a couple days ago. And I'm happy to say that I'm slightly above the curve with 2004 as the year I began knitting seriously. Prior to 2004, knitting was something I did during the winter so the boys could each have a scarf or hat or both.
I'm glad I discovered that knitting is for any time of year. And I'm glad I discovered Ravelry too! Distractions and all...
