Trekking XXL Socks

Trekking XXL Socks

The Oldest Son's Trekking socks are off the needles and finished. Here are the specs:

Yarn: Trekking XXL in a blue colorway. (ADDED LATER: It's Color 85--finally found the band!)

Size: US 3

Pattern: Modified from the How to Knit Socks booklet and modeled from one of the crew socks in the Oldest Son's sock drawer. He prefers crew socks to regular, full-length socks and there were a few starts and stops before I figured out how to make this work. I ended up casting on 60 stitches and modifying each part of the sock accordingly.

Time: 1 and 1/2 weeks of knitting as time allows. It helped that these were only crew socks; however, the OS's feet are still quite large.

About the Oldest Son: This is my conservative child. While he's not very picky about most things in life, I learned long ago that he is picky about his conservative attire. Most everything he wears is blue, grey, or black. And the notion of surprising him with a few clothing items to add a little splash to his wardrobe? A waste of time and money.

These socks will never see the light of day. They won't be worn outside of the house anyway. But I'm okay with that. Really. I am.
